my 1 amp charger takes about an hour to charge. if i put it on 2 amp it takes a half hour ish. but that isnt completely dead, that is when i try and start my aero in the cold and the starter runs out of juice to turn the starter.

if it hasnt been ran in a while you might have trouble getting it electric started. unfortunately thats the beauty of kickstart, you only run out of juice when your too frustrated to kick it over again.

Kick start is a grinder it won't really work but at least it does not bind.

seems like that new cover would fix your issue if i understand what the issue is. when its all set up kickstart is extremely reliable, i hate that about my 85 aero 50. (the only year they didnt have kickstart) when i leave home and go somewhere far, when i come back to my scoot i always pray that something didnt drain my battery down.

dont use starter fluid, i read somewhere on here that that can be bad. i have to crank my scoot for about a minute to get gas up to itwhen the lines are dry. plug the holes at the airbox if you can, that will help choke it.

plug gap, if you bought an ngk that was ment for the scoot, you shouldnt really have to worry about it. (correct me if im wrong) but it might help, especially if it is on the edge of firing up.

uhhhh Went to schucks and got an autolite that's what was in it! I'll hook it up with something better later as I will probably foul this one out just getting it running.

I'd say at least a year since it ran. guess I should remove the carb open er up and blow it out.

i would. if you are just trying to see if it runs you could just leave it like it is, at least check to make sure fuel is getting to the float bowl and into the manifold

leave the plastic fload and the needle with the rubbery black tip out of the carb clean. sounds good though, its good to have it all ready so when you get it to fire, you can throw your helmet on and let her rip.

yeah most honda carbs this old need to be cleaned my 77 nc50 would'nt go for nothin without a good soak in the cleaner. I sprayed that thing out 2-3 times and it just kept choking out now shes about 80% restored and hummin along love that bike just hate the prehistoric start. Although my 86 spree came as a runner never an issue just needed a battery and a license. (my wifes bike) I'm hoping to get this elite going so we can ride together. not as much fun by yourself.
