The zebra is optional. But I think it would help.

Wait - plankton, that's too much :thumbwink: The starter I know you'd be taking apart before the electrolytic rust removal. I've been leaving my rusty starters as is :)

So on the pictured parts (which look great) - are they getting the hot linseed oil treatment?

yes, everything in the most recent picture is getting oiled.
only the clutch bell, engine head shroud, exhaust, and L&R floor board "runners" are getting painted.

*yes the starter was disassembled before electrolysis. i had to take a wire brush and metal scour pad to the top half of the starter(didnt touch anything on the inside).

got some parts painted the other day. been raining the last 2 days so some stuff is still unfinished(front wheel, etc)

note: the handlebar under shroud has not been painted, only sanded, cleaned and is drying on the wall.

updates.
i found something interesting...my aero is different than every other one i've seen online.
here's what i'm talking about.

Image

heres mine
Image
Image

as you can see, its got this extra bracket thing...and the "wind shield" is solid metal, not translucent plastic.
the "windshield" on mine also has a rubber backing that is the exact same size.
what i'm wondering is...did a few of them come w/ stock wind shields(the big kind) that had a special mounting bracket?
if so, im guessing this is the remains of that wind shield and the clear plastic bit broke long ago.

here's another pic of my recycled spree turn signals
Image
i only had one stock signal and it was busted. i bent the carrier where the lights mount to 90 degrees and put these little babies on.
doesnt look as slick, but at least people will know i'm turning.
