Looked at the reinforced crank (Autotech) on eBay - $80 shipped and it includes new bearings and seals. I like the idea of that - reinforced makes me think it will last longer...but only time will tell if that's true.

I'm thinking that others have used Autotech before and they are a good parts supplier? I know that Taiwan isn't China but I deal with a lot of China suppliers in my day to day job and often have issues with inferior (cheaper) metals being used.

Taiwan is better than china but not as good as japan or USA metal.

If you do buy a stock engine, you'd have two engines. One could serve as a backup engine, which is always good to have.
Just take a look at your budget and how much you are willing to spend.

That polini bore can be reliable when treated right
but so can a good mini-stroker setup.
Irregardless of what setup you choose, just make sure that you always keep checking the basics (for maintenance).
Check everything! I almost lost my exhaust the one night, I didn't realize that both exhaust bolts wiggled there way out
Lucky for me I didn't hit any hard bumps on the way home (after the exhaust started becoming loud and I started riding more careful.
The next morning, I found that exhaust bolts from my Razz fits.
Lesson (re-)learned, don't be in too much of a hurry (or too darn lazy) to use the proper recommended tension for the installation of bolts.

Carlos (autotech) is a great seller. I've bought carbs to spare headgaskets and would not hesitate to order from him again.

No, need to get those. Sent you a PM a little while ago asking if you have some already that I could pay your for or if I should pick some up and send them to you.

Red Eft Performance gave me a recommendation for where to buy but also want to make sure the guy doing the work was good with it first!

The official reason this scooter did not run......

Clogged pilot jet.

Yup, I opened up the carb today to take a peek at the jets, and discovered that the 42 pilot jet was totally gummed up.

And the Main jet was a 107. That is way too small.

I took off the intake and took a picture.

It is totally stock. I will be porting an boostport matching this block. This is the before picture.
