Hey everyone. This is my 1986 honda beat with a blown up engine when i first got it about a year ago. (the photo quality isn't the best unfortunately)

I found myself another honda beat for $50 and i swapped the engines over and got the black one going once again

After that i gave the honda a general tidy up and gave the panels, wheels, engine block and exhaust a re-spray.
The end result:

I rebuilt the whole engine. New bearings, an over-sise piston and new gaskets. carb cleaned, etc. This bike has a 7.2hp 50cc engine equipped with a power-valve (or V-tac) pedal where your left heel is and a tuned lenth exhaust from factory. Check this out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_fc50. This is the first watercooled scooter ever to be put into production. When they were new, they were insainely expensive and very few of these were sold which means that they are very rare now. I was very lucky to find two of them in reasonable-ish condition.

That's really cool - and they are hard to find. I'd drive it any day over a CH80 or 125.

Apparently Honda has reintroduced the Beat and has already been released over seas.

The new Honda beat isn't like the original unfortunately.
I find them a bit boring

I much prefer the original beat

I may paint mine red because i think it looks quite cool and it will make it go significantly faster.

I love those old Mazda's. I would get rid of my crap bike for the car as well. Who cares about practicality or saving petrol. Unfortunately the car doesn't belong to me because I've already got two toys to play with.

I have a old Nifty 50 (we call the Spree 'Nifty 50' over here) as well as the Beat to do up one day. It runs good, just needs a drive belt as I snapped it going up a hill. Also the panels are in need of a respray.
