I would ride it before you make the trade. Otherwise you could be trading for some junk that will cost more to fix than the elite

IS this the CDI and what does it do? does it "tell" the coil when to fire the spark plug? if so then this isnt my problem. i read that my cdi could be bad. im gonna find a rebuild kit for my motor on ebay if i have to

yes that is the cdi, you can test to make sure it works properly by using a multitester to check the ohms, the manual will tell you how to test it
