The baffle cut down noise. they do not restrict flow, the pipe size and bends do that.
Now you are contradicting yourself Bear.
How do you figure that. The baffle stop and redirect sound, they do nothing to the flow.

if thay dont cose a restrict in the flow why do some pipe get full of carbin.??? bear if your feeling up to it you shood open up a mufler and see for your self .. its well suprise you how sung the bafull are in it ..

I've tuned pipes by spray painting them (regular paint, no high temp stuff), then running them. They will have a nice heat ring somewhere near the end of the pipe. You cut the pipe off at the ring and there is a real difference to be felt and seen in the time slips. But you guys can not understand 2 stroke pipes until you have read up on them and understand the principles involved. And what worked on your car ain't it. Oh and that ring is sound based on pulses moving thru the pipe.

you better go read again because it sounds like you still don't understand it. The ones with out baffles have a ding ding sound out of it but its not as loud as a chamber belly pipe without a silencer because the outlet design is like a bandpass box for subwoofers. The 2nd chamber acts like a sound filter so basicly its a silencer in a way .again by sound. Go read the 2 books again and understand it this time.

Because the spree is slow.
If your Supra only had
one gear, would you bother tuning the exhaust?
A stock 50cc dio will run circles around a stage 1 2 or 3 spree all day long.
If you want to build a pipe, I have a 70cc chamber you can buy for $20.
It has no head pipe or silencer, but the cones are there.

Wow... 6 pages. One could have spent that time assembling one in the amount of time spent posting about it.
I made a half-dozen of these pipes, in the very early days of the board. It was a lot of work for the final product, and I just got tired of it. Once I paid off my Lincoln welder, I stopped. They worked fine, but killed the bottom end torque for top-end speed. They sounded fine... like a 50cc dirt bike.

They were even slower during take off and acceleration until it reached a point, say 20mph for example, then it took off and reached a higher speed than the stock spree.

Otherwise ride-ability was scarificed for a little top speed.

the bike now has TONNNS of low end power now, but i canceled it all out with the pulley mod. if i could get more top end power I could reverse some of the pulley mod.
right now i
hate the way the rides with the pulley BS

Personal attack, moron. You are doing exactly what you say I need a time out for. Sort of two faced, huh? Besides who died and left you in-charge to start with?

Kewl cant wait to see how this turns out. I have a new design to test in a couple of weeks. I will post pics as soon as I have them.
Yes Jamz we know a stock elite with the restrictors removed will do better or about the same as all the upgrade parts combined for the spree. Its like comparing apples to oranges. But the gains are still very nice compared to stock. On my spree I went from 24-25mph before the upgrade and after I went a solid 39mph with tons of bottom end gains. That a 14-15mph gain. If I upgrade a dio engine with a few simple parts such as a 47-50mm BBK and a gear ratio I would gain 10mph. The short stroke and no variator does not help matters withe spree vs the dio. lol

That's why it's called "tuning" (in this case a tuned pipe), not "make everything better-ing." Tuning is all about trade offs. Increase displacement: increase power at cost of shorter bearing life. Etc.
Tuned pipes make the engine run really well in a narrow RPM band. Since the Spree has 1 gear, you're making a trade off between power at low RPMs (launch) and high RPMs (top speed.) The pipes I built were for the latter, and worked from ~15 MPH up to 35 MPH. They'd have been great for racing... some people liked the idea so I built the pipes to work it.
You can build one yourself. TNC Scooters still sells the pipe that I used for $15. Just cut and re-weld with a stock Spree downpipe, keeping all the lengths the same. Original pipe looks like this:

yea i understand trade-off. like a giant turbo, or monster cams shift the curve
i feel pretty confident that if the motor could breathe up top, i could reverse some of the pulley-mod that gobbled up all my low-end and still gain more top-end
