Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

I've had two Sprees back in the day and am looking for another - maybe an 86 or 87 (for nostalgia and wife-annoying purposes). Any leads besides the $600 ones listed in Craig's List?

yeah in lees summit. i saw an '85 spree on craigslist in blue springs, i bet you could get them down on the price i think it was $300.

I saw that one for 350. (the black one with the homemade seat?). Looking for a little better condition. Looked like the plastic on one side of the headlight cowling was broken.

I emailed him and asked what work was left to be done. He said it runs but might have 'clogged muffler or bad bearing.' and said 'could take 50 to 500 to fix'. Don't know how/why a bearing would be going out or how you would fix that. Maybe I just need to 'clean the carb and just ride...'.

You think it's worth it?

im in kc as well, however i live in waldo/brookside and work in lees summit. just keep an eye out, the good ones go quick, but they are around. my aero was 250, and i saw a really sweet suzuki moped the other day for 200 that i wish i would have snagged. i almost snagged that 175 spree but have alot on my plate with just buying our house. my lady would not approve... especially when the aero is in the garage taken apart to fix the gas tank.

Talked to the guy selling that nice red 85 (sold) and he said he went to take a look at the one mentioned above. Said the rod bearing was shot. Doesn't sound worth it.

right on! I am in between ward parkway and wornal down where they meet, you are pretty close. since the guys at KC Vespa have always been fantastic to me I always go down there to buy my motul, there is also scooter world in overland park, but I would prefer to spend a little more and support some great guys.

My eyes are peeled on craigslist for a new Spree. You know anyone selling in KC?

just keep a few hundred stashed and keep a look out for the perfect one and you will find one.
