I have to partially cover the carb to get the '86 spree to rev up and to run, will not idle. When I remove my hand the Spree will run for about 3 to 5 seconds before it wants to die, if I replace my hand it will again run. Any ideas?

hehe, people have to realize that a stock bike should only be altered in the exhaust portion unless their going to upgrade plugs, jets, ect.

rock those air filters! :D

basically what happened was the bike sat for years (only 175 miles on it), I cleaned out the carb and the air filter was rotten so I thru it away. I went to start it and the petcock was not working properly, I fixed that and when I started it ( did not attach the air box ) it ran poorly. The bike shop in town said they will have the new filter by Saturday. I let you know how it runs on Tuesday.
