Engine swap? What fits?

I know most of you are all, Dio,Dio,Dio. But lets say you can get an Elite 80 or 150 locally much cheaper then a Dio. Would it be a good option? I've already put $600 into the engine I have this year so I'll likely do nothing, but there is another SE50 available locally. it would be nice for the wife to have a scooter of her very own, that could keep up with mine. (So a touch faster then walking)

Greetings:

Elite 80s and especially 150s enjoy a broader market simply because in stock form they're more versatile than a stock 50. For that reason, I'm surprised you can get one for less than a 50. (Maybe the demand for 50s is due to cheaper insurance and licensing requirements?)

The SE50 is a personal favorite of mine, so that's what I'd get for Ms. Wheelperson if she had a scooter hankerin'. The 4-strokes can last a good long time with incredible reliability. For me they lack the "drama" and fulfillment of a well-tuned 2-stroke, but they safely and efficiently always get you where you want to go. Now where's the fun in that?

Plus if you have a 4-stroke scooter, how are you going to have a rev-off competition against your neighbor's weedwhacker?

Swaps like the Aero 80 or Elite 150 can be done, but keep in mind that not many if any have tried.

Maybe you could be the first or second
