Hey everyone I'm new here and new to sprees but i have been given a spree it's says 87 nq50 on a book I found under the seat. It has 20 miles on it. my grandma is the origanal owner. The tank is completely rusted on the inside and so is the carb and trying to remove the the floater in it I broke it. When I opened the air box I went to grab the air filter and my finger went right through it and it fell apart completely I called Honda and was quoted almost
$210 for rebuild kit for carb, new floater with pin, air filter, and gas tank $160 without tank is it possible to reuse tank and is there a better option than the rebuild for the carb like a better race carb or somthing? my goal is to get 45-50 mph out of this thing what are some basic bolt on mods I can do as a start? any info will help thanks

i have a spree parts carb if u need the float. but the spree is a non variated scooter to get those speeds a motor swap will more than likely be needed.

the best swap is the af16e, aka Dio. 1994-2001 honda elite s/sr engine.
or a variated af05e, sa50 pre 94 and areo 50 engine.

either will run you a few hundred, the dio probably at least 300 in running stock form. there's a afo5e variated powerplant in the WTB/FS thread for 200, might still be there.
down to 150. shipped.
