Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

Alright, time for me to start my build thread. I got this little guy for free, but like my granddad always says some free things are not worth having.

Here she is as i got her.




I took the plastics off and cleaned up the engine and frame.

It exploded.




Im going to paint the frame and rims tomorrow. Also going to clean up the engine some more and paint it. Im waiting to get some parts so i can put it back together. I got lucky and found a god side panel and cargo rack at a local motorcycle shop. Also found a cool little '72 Suzuki TC90 that i got for $30. I want to get the spree done and out of the way so i can work on the zuki. Ill stick its pic in the end of the post.

The red is for the frame and the copper is for the rims.


The red panel came from the motorcycle shop.


Heres the Suzuki. I need a carb, anyone got one for it?


More will come tomorrow once the paint cures.

Yea, you've got a good looking scoot so far.

No painting today, rained like a cow * on a flat rock this morning. Gonna clean up the engine and maybe clean the carb. Also got to sort out the wiring harness. That is after i go into town for a few things.

yeha bro you should jsut rewire the whole bike
i am making a wireing harness diagram for it right now
and really clean that carb good it makes a huge difference.

Im not really feeling like making a whole new wire harness. I used to do that for a living when wiring boats and its a pain in the * sometime. Im either going to fix what ive got, or find a good one on ebay.

Alright, got the engine cleaned up some, 1 rim painted and the frame painted.

Rim, i like the colour.


The frame kinda looks pink, but its red.

and are you planning any mods? bore kit and what not?

Mods will come later down the road once its up and running. BBK will be the first then maybe gears.

What color for the plastics?

I haven't figured out what colour i want to do the plastics yet. I may end up going with semi-flat black, but thats not 100%. Any ideas?

With the bronze wheels I think there are a few ideal colors that will compliment them. I personally like flat black but am also leaning towards keeping it white. A few other options can be dark blue, olive green, or even some sort of mid to dark grey.

Yea, a medium grey colour is high on my list. Im a big fan of BSG, so i may pull a paint scheme from the Vipers on the show. Maybe light grey with some dark red stripes.
