crap, it crapped

Post by Lunched_one »

i was tweaking with the air settings on my honda spree and got it to run almost perfect, i rode this thing to my buddies house and tweaked the air screw a little more, then it died. Now it will not start, but it is getting compression, fuel, and GOOD spark, (trust me, ive been shocked on more than one occasion)

can some one help me with this problem, im ready to just give up, but gas prices have become outragous.

(i could not pass up the scoots, 2 sprees for $30)

Don't tweak with the settings unless you know what you are doing.
The air jet should be turned out from a closed position
1 7/8 turns before 1986
1 1/2 turns out for a 1986
1 3/8 turns out after 1986
Then adjust idle so your rear wheel is not turning when up on its kickstand.
You can try these settings and if it does not start then your jets are probably plugged. Clean the carb thoroughly inside. Unscrew your jets and make sure they are not plugged. Spray carb cleaner through the little openings. Also make sure your spark plug is clean and plug cap is on tightly to plug. Also make sure your air filter is clean. When you crank it over also check to see if you can feel exhaust coming out of end of muffler with your hand. Its the same old answers to about the same posts on this site. I suggest everyone should download the free spree service manual listed under technical documents to solve alot of their problems.
