clutch nut

i'm having a heck of a time getting the nut off of the clutch outer on my 87 spree. trying to install taz's gears but that nut is the only thing stopping me. i looked at the tech docs and i don't have the parts to make the clutch holder

i tried wrapping a leather belt around the outer, putting a rope through the holes and wrapping the rope around the shock mount but it snapped it, etc.
i also wanted to use my oil filter grabber but it's a little small to wrap around. i thought about taking the spree off of it's stand and using the rear wheel to keep the clutch steady but realised that might break the stock gears.

any ideas? i'm limited on tools....

Nope, just good ol' Righty-Tighty. It can be pretty stuck if it's never been removed. Honda-san says 29 Ft.-Lbs.
