ok i know this probly is a really bad thing but uhhh. ok so whenever i ride my moped at high speeds for an extended amount of time or down a hill real fast it will all the sudden start dropping in roms while making this whinging sound and then it proceeds tpo stop all together and sieze. sometime i can hit the kickstart and it will bot right up. other times i have to wait like 5 minutes before i can even move the kickstart. iknow i have a leaky gasket and im workin on replacing it but could that be the cause of it?
thanks for all ur guyses help i know have a spree that at least starts and runs real good most the time and i love it t.

Sounds like engine rebuilding time. New piston. New Rings. You also, say you have to wait 5 minutes sometime before your kickstart even moves. That doesn't sound good does it guys. Anybody else want to chime in.

Yep. You're overheating. You either have an air leak, your fan isn't working, or your oiler's stopped oiling.
You're not still running that thing with no bystarter, are you? That would lean it out if it's missing. Or if you've just blocked it open (closed up the top), the raw fuel into the hot extra will overheat it due to running extreme rich. Like running fully choked all the time.

Try
www.scootertherapy.com you will have to pull the piston out, free the rings, or replace the piston & rings.

Those are $5-6. Pretty cheap. Check
www.partsfish.com. These are a really common part, used on a lot of stuff.
It sounds like you're getting temporary seizures. I wouldn't tear it apart for rings/bore until you look inside (for scratches) and check the engine's compression. You may have gotten lucky.

yeah theres no way im doin an engine rebuild unless its absolutely neccesary. i think that the new gasket will fix most my problems.

if the rings are stuck and piston is scarred it will still seize, replace all the gaskets.

hey if i take off the head do i have to replace the gasket underneath the area where the piston moves( i dont know the correct term for it.)i never took this part off but when u take off thehead it lossens the grip between this and the bottom portion of the engine.(crankcase i think its called)

no, u do not have to replace the bottom gasket. that gasket doesnt hold compression. that cylinder is refered to as a jug on 2 strokes.
