Greetings:
The SA16 bottom end that some pesky Forum denizen blabbed about a few days ago is MINE, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAh- *cough-cough * HOK- Ptui.
All
MINE!! For the Princely sum of 69 Bones+ Shipping. OK, so shipping makes it not such a good deal, presuming the crank is pretzeled, the bearings are square and there are a bunch of cracks the Seller forgot to tell me about, but still...
Before anyone else says it,
Dude! Swap in a(nother) Dio!!
Now... What to build?

So you were the one who outbid me

hmmmm, a twin dio elite would be killer (inline, not triked) or another motor with no downtime on the elite

think of the trouble that could get you into.

Nah, Wheelz already gots a V-Twin:

Definitely this is a build-at-leisure thing, with no pressure to Get It Done as Flash III seems to be running pretty happy.
I've done oddball: Unknown quantities like the Nikasil bore, Arreche, CV Mikuni Smoothbore carbs along with Mystery Pipes from JW. (2) Maybe it's time to try Conventional. Save up for a Corsa or MHR, accessorize with Phoney-Gear and an OKO 28. Ministroker??

Thanks dawg. The Sportster fits me very well. Not too big, certainly not too fast, not too crotch-rockety. It handles as well as a 500-pound relic of Agricultural technology can be expected to do. Good S-model suspension.
But to tell the full truth, I enjoy the SR much more around town. I can hop on and get to the Quickee-Mart in less time than it takes the Sporty to get warmed up without the need to get a painful new tattoo.

If history is a predictor of the future - something that out does Flash III, yet leaves room for Flash V.
Hey good snag, can't wait to see what you build. May you never run out of Flashes...

For the sake of being hilarious you should name one build "hot flash", and paint it sparkle pink.
however on a serious note, take something unassuming and build something crazy like those Hawaii kids do to put in it.
something sleeper like...

Thanks again dudes. Good snag indeed. I comb the local CL and eBay almost daily and seldom see any 16s or post-94 Elites. Of the kajillion sold, where in heaven's name are they all? You'd think Biff and Buffy Mundane could wheel them out of the shed now that Skippy's gone off to Cooking College, repeated a few hundred thousand times. Alas Dio finds are seldom sighted.
I was thinking a Polini bore would make a kick-* motor drive for a camera, if anyone still used film. Perhaps a leaf blower, but not a Roto-Tiller due to poor low-end torque.
Whatever becomes of this block, it will eventually grace the frame of my current ride, unless I find a way to bolt it to the back of the Family Truckster to serve as auxiliary Hybrid Drive. Maybe with a set of 2:1 gears for economical Interstate cruising.
Hmmm, I wonder if there's a 2003 Metropolitan somewhere with a main bearing failure? If ever there was a coolly-styled scooter in desperate need of bigger balls...

I've been wanting to see a built met-dio for awhile.
it's like a deisel powered prius. sweet, but not what the designers had in mind.

Once you know exactly what you're looking for, I've found posting "Wanted" ads gets me better action on the market.
