I have an 87 Spree. Compleatly stock. I got this bike on Ebay. It has 2600 miles on it. Since I got it about 2 months ago I've put about 250 miles on it. The thing killed on me one day and would not start for anything. I took the plug out and cleaned it. After putting it back in it fired right up. I bought a new plug and installed it, drove about 60 miles and it did it all of a sudden in the middle of my ride it just lost all mid range power. I took the carb off and cleaned it real good. I also replaced the Main Jet and needle and seat from the rebuild kit, alond with all the gaskits that came in the kit. It worked great for about a mile and then it just started bogging again. Other than that it runs great, Starts with one kick even after days of sitting. On the stand without a load on it it revs up all the way with only a slight miss in the mid range but it clears right up and tops out. I have tried adjusting the carb but turing the screws in or out doens't seem to make to much of a difference. It is just wierd to me that it would just start doing this in the middle of a ride. I don't know much about 2-strokes but I am almost 100% sure it is a carb problem. Any Suggestions???

Check you bystarter also...make sure it is properly dropping the needle to seal off the choke after it has warmed up. Also check to see if you have any loose electrical connections.

if it has no low end power when hot, it sounds like a compression issue.

The air filter is horrible i have a new one on order. i will see what is going on when i get it. Also it does not seem to change with the temp of the engine. if anything it is better when it is hot.
