cleanin carbon off

hey all i couldn;t find info on this, what is the best way to clean carbon off the cylinder head/ i don;t wanna scrape at it? i have access to a bead blaster, would that be safe??

I just throw the head in the dishwasher... Shhhhh don't tell my fiance! Since its aluminum it won't rust, just gotta stop it a couple of times mid cycle, and lightly scrub it to help break up the carbon deposits.

The Dishwasher Secret is out! Don't worry, we won't rat you out.
A plastic scaper can safely remove the big chunks. Be careful not to bead-blast a kink in the head-to-cylinder mating surface. Walnut shells or other soft media might be safer than sand or beads.
