NOB here.
Long story short.
Have an 86 with a messed up fan. 85 parts bike has good one.
So will I have to go through a major swap here? Or can I get the 85 fly wheel over the 86 generator and will it work?
Along the same line the 86 carb I have has stripped mounting holes. I know I will need to change over the bystarter and jet. Any other issues I may run into?
Yes I was planning on using the 85 head on this.

The 85 fan/alternator will not swap over to the 86. I think he also said something about the fan shroud being different as well?

As for the carb, it will work. The only thing you will run into is that the bystarter plug has a plastic clip on the 86 and bullet type connectors on the 85. Cut and splice the connector and problem solved.
