Hi All!

So I couldn't get enough of my first spree that I got back in January so I had to pick up another one (this one in MUCH) better shape. Under 600 original miles, white, perfect body, even came with some honda saddlebags, basket and windshied. The problem I am having with it this heavy vibration, stuttering (but not engine hesitation I dont think) when I go to accelerate, especially sharp acceleartion. Also when I go to slow down and let go off the gas it happens. Dont think its the engine but rather the drivetrain. I am going to take it apart and have a look at the belt, clutch springs etc to see if there is anything obvious. Doesnt sound like wear and tear given that the spree is so new (relatively). Is this something you guys experienced? By the way, the engine and exhaust sound waaaaayyyy bettter on this spree than my mighty red one with over 5000 K on it.

Before you tear into the transmission check a couple of simple things that have been known to cause vibration like you describe.

One is the kickstand. Make sure its not able to contact the frame or body at some point without rubber between the two surfaces.

Another is the exhaust. If some of the manifold or hanger mounting bolts are not sufficiently tight it can cause vibration.

So here is the update:

- exhaust and kickstand clear well and the stuttering/vibration definitely is coming from the drive train.
- Flywheel and the wheel behind it are all well. No signs of wear and tear.
- Belt well within wear limit and looks good
- I took off the clutch and the inner wheel is within limit
- Clutch pads are UNEVENLY worn ( I measured the pads from when the pad material begins until it ends. I noticed that there are two tiers for the clutch pad????!!??? If I measure from the higher tier to the end the pads are as follows 2.1 mm 1.7 mm and 1.3 mm. Notice that the latter is BELOW the wear limit. I didn't separate the clutch yet mainly because I didn't want to use my puller on the face of bearing of the clutch to decompress the spring as i thought that the bearing may come out. What is the best way to take it apart? I didn't see any guides in the tech. section. I do not have the clutch separator tool as listed in the manual. This is quite frustrating as I am not even sure if this is the clutch thats causing the vibration. When I reassembled the bike and took it for a ride, it stuttered MORE!!!!! especially when immediately slowing down or pulling away (hence why I think its the clutch issue). From what I could see the springs inside the clutch look okay and when the belt is tensioned the clutch separates and engages freely.

Any suggestions?
