Looking for more top speed for my scoot. Looking for a 9:1 gear set for my 01 sa50p new or used. Couldn't find anything on ebay or vtcycles. What's a good price for new? Thanx

If you can wait about a week I will sell my used ones to you. I'm going to 8.4:1 gears. Name a price.

Greetings:
Unless derestricted (= drill out washer in the exhaust header, eliminate the variator limiter, and install at least a 78 main jet), your SA50P likely won't go any faster with 9:1s than it does with 12:1s. So Derestricted, it should be capable of ~45 MPH with the 9:1s. Add an aftermarket variator and you can push a reliable 49 MPH.

I have a agressivly ported 2nd over stock cylinder, 88 MJ, aftermarket variator with 9g rollars, derestricted pipe and air box. I'm getting 37mph and I weight 250#. My next step is 2k springs and 9:1 gears.

Greetings:
Thanks for setting me straight. Your bike should run over 40 if the cylinder's healthy and the pipe isn't stuffed with carbon. Stock in the 2001 SR were 8.5-gram rollers. Consider 7.5 or even 7s.

I'm hoping for a 45 mph crusing speed.
