gyro

Post by premix56 »

My boss has a mint condition gyro. Its red with basket up front. Runs great. What's it worth and can a sa50p motor work in it? Is there enough stuff avalible to make it fast?
Sa50p: port/polish, custom vari, 88mj, restrictions removed. 47 mph

I'm guessing with a basket up front you are talking about a 1984 NN50. They were imported to the US in 1984 only, and are somewhat rare. Price wise - an NN50 sometimes will sell for quite a bit on eBay. Check your local area, and consider posting on eBay if wanting to sell.[

A SA50 engine is much different to the NN50 engine/trans. Unfortunately the SA50 cylinder or aftermarket big bores are not a drop in either.
sell. Photo below is a 1986 TG50, but similar to the NN50 powertrain.

I would say $500-1200, depending on overall condition and who buys it.
In the barn::
2001 Honda Elite
2002 Yamaha Vino
2007 Roketa Sicily
2006 Ninja 250

Special thanks to:
Workdog & Iggysepia for parts & quick shipping.
Evilone for buying my SA50P.

There is something you can do to the gyro as far as a bigger bore. The gyro uses the same piston as the elite lx, spree. So you can bore the cylinder to a 44mm. I have done this on a few Gyros when I had my shop in vegas. It helps with the power big time.

Hard to name a price without a picture to show condition. What state is it in? You can swap out the piston for a later one with higher compression and pull one ring off for a little higher rpm range.
