Are the the brake shoes interchangable between those 3 models of sprees ?
http://www.partspitstop.com/pages/parts ... fault.aspx this is for the spree
http://www.partspitstop.com/pages/parts ... fault.aspx this is for the Elite
http://www.partspitstop.com/pages/parts ... fault.aspx this for the Aero
now i would think that they would be interchangable, they have the same mechanism, and same style of braking in terms of housing. I would think if the hub is the same size diameter ( that the brake shoe applies friction to) that the pads could/do work
any input on this Elite owners ?
I measured my spree hub I/D ( inner diameter) and got 3 5/16 inches thats for my front wheel, and looking at the diagram if the front wheel brake shoes work for BOTH Spree and Elite, The shoes should also work for the rear wheel on the Spree.

There is a width difference. Stick with Aero/Elite shoes on those models.

Greetings:
Quoth gbrebory:
Hope you're kidding. I mean, it's not like your life depends on reliable braking or anything, right?
I recommend you get with someone who has worked on scooters or even bicycles to assess your issue. It's fairly easy to unbolt the handle, thread the cable end into its socket, then bolt the handle back on. However if the cable end itself has pulled off the core, you simply need to replace the cable assembly. Soldering won't do it, let alone JB Weld.
I believe most if not all these Honda brake levers interchange from scooter to scooter. The rear one (Left Grip) has a Parking Brake feature.

Brakes Interchange?
Greetings:
In a must-stop situation, the front brake delivers 70% of a 'cycle's stopping power. Look it up in the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Using the rear brake alone will more than triple your stopping distance.
If either brake is "sticking closed", may I heartily recommend you take it apart to sort things out. Excessively worn shoes will allow the cam to over-rotate and "Jam" the brakes on. This can be very unhealthy when a Camry bumper is approaching from behind. Sometimes it's just the cam itself: The pivot point can get very rough and become very sticky. You can usually knock it out, ream out the panel and sand the shaft, re-grease and re-install. Replacement shoes can be had from Honda or eBay for under $15. Whatever the problem, Please look into this before you hurt yourself, or more importantly, your Scooter.
'Dunno 'bout Sprees, but the Aero and early SE and SA 50 Elites all had a 95mm REAR and an 80mm FRONT drum diameter. In 1994 Honda-san wisely upped the front to 95mm, and kept the same rims front and rear all the way through to today's Metropolitan scooter. If you swap brake panels, the Met (tubeless!) rims fit all of the above except possibly the Spree.
