Greetings, Ryan:

Your previous setup isn't too clear. If your bore and pipe are all-stock, an 85 might be just a bit rich if using a stock airbox, even with the second tab open. Confirm with a look at the color of your spark plug. If it's darker than cardboard, as in cocoa or black, consider an 82. A de-restricted 2001 should run a bit over 40 on stock gears.

i did steps as follows
1. Removed variator ramp (still stock Variator)
2. Removed washer from exhaust
3. Removed 2nd tab (plug with carrdboard because it was too much air)
4. Got 85 and 88 jets and inserted 85 in
5. Opened up the 2nd air tab again.

Sitting at about 34 on gps.

The title of your thread is about as bad as it gets. Put more detail into it about your problem next time

Toad's point is well-taken, if a little curt.

Mine ran 43 without touching the engine at all. Only a Polini variator and the 90/90 tire. Didn't even cut the airbox, and the stock 78 jet still in situ. Of course it had 33 miles. Check the plug for dark color, then check compression next. If it's high-mileage, see if that pipe isn't caked with carbon.

Wouldn't removing the ramp prevent it from ever shifting? That could be your problem right there.
Usually you would remove the restrictor plate from the back. It needs the ramp. How do you keep the rollers in without a ramp?
