It is a 1984. Sat for about 2 years. Has good spark. Someone removed the gas shut-off. Any ideas?

What he said. And make sure the tank and filter are clean with fresh gas, and the oil tank and filter are clean with fresh GN2. Then when you think you have the carb clean, clean it some more. Seriously.

Then with a fresh plug, $2 at Napa, try again. Report results descriptively and we'll go from there.

Update on gyro not starting. Compression was 30#. pulled head and cylinder and found rings stuck. Removed piston and have it soaking in pb blaster. Ring set and gaskets ordered. Updates later.
