Will be looking at painting my 87(89)Elite SE50 in a while

and wanted your suggestions on paint.
My ideas so far are,
Inside panels (ie floor/glovey)to be satin black. (Already decided this.)
But as for the outside panels, (i.e. front panel, headlight surround and two side panels,) and wheels, I'm undecided.
Thinking either, Matt Black
or Gloss Black
or a Dark gun-metal Grey for the outside panels.
And wheels, either Gloss Black or silver/aluminium colour.
What do you guys reckon? Or what have other people done/what looks good etc etc.
Am open to suggestions and can post pics if like.
Many thanks.

I'm at the same stage! ... but will probably stick with retro red/white.
If you are going with the satin black, I'd think straight black or gun metal gray to complement it and keep the wheels with the same dark theme.
What type of paint/primer are you using and are you using any kind of flex agent or plastic prep?

I'l like to see a "hammered" paint, or one of those effects that you use the plastic bags to create designs in the paint, oh, or use that aforementioned pastic bag method to accent a stripe or something. Possibilites are ENDLESS!!!

Check out the blue bike fender, needs polishing to get those little scratches out, but other than that, that would look killer. I think I will try this for my next auto paint project.

I'll just be using automotive paint. Give the panels a good rub down then spray with a "one-step" primer filler, then rub that down till very smooth then hit it with the paint. Dunno if i'll do it in Acrylic spray cans yet with clear. Or try and hit my mate up whos got a compressor and gun and use 2 pack.....
But I would love to do a
Repsol Honda theme. As seen on this scooter here...
