What do you mean by "no bystarter on the carb"speedfreek700 wrote:seems i can only get my spree to run good with no bystarter on the carb? what is it doing? thanks 48 bbk with 100 main jet.
The bystarter is an electronic "choke". If your scooter run good with it unplugged, it would suggest a lean condition.

it runs good with it out of carb with a open hole. the carb respond to the screw adjustments more positvley. could it be needing that much more air?

Re: what happens if i run no bystarter?
Greetings:
The pilot hole is probably gummed up. The only way it can breathe/inhale fuel is through the bystarter circuit. It probably isn't a good idea to run it without the bystarter for very long, as it's likely not metering the correct amount of fuel for a warm engine. The Correct Thing is to go back and clean out the Pilot hole, then reinstall the bystarter. So spake Honda-san.

I tried to remove my bystarter of my honda spree 85, and the gold colored needle? stayed in the carb....is that the reason why my scooter tries to turn over but can't? Should I pull it out? how does the bystarter work?

It is an electronic choke. The needle pushes out to block extra fuel from being added, after the engine warms up.aplummer12 wrote:I tried to remove my bystarter of my honda spree 85, and the gold colored needle? stayed in the carb....is that the reason why my scooter tries to turn over but can't?
