oil/fuel mixture screw
how do i know when the screw is at the right setting, becauyse i know that it is important.
To make sure it is correct, you will first need to screw it in all the way until you just feel some resistance. Then, unscrew it approximately 1 7/8 turns for 84 and 85 year spree carbs(for 86' year sprees, it'll be 1 1/2, and 87's will be 1 3/8 ). That should return the carb to the stock setting. After that you should run the engine for at least 5-7 minutes, then while it's running, slowly turn the screw left and then right(left=leaner idle;right=richer idle), until the engine runs smooth. Once that's done, just turn the throttle stop screw(the one above the idle mix screw) up or down until the engine idles fast enough to keep running, but not so fast as to make the rear wheel spin(while on the center stand).
I hope this info will help, and if you have any more questions just ask.
