my spree worked with a rag as an air filter, but now it will not work with the original factory filter... i have the air screw at 1 1/2, and the idle speed screw adjusted to the highest speed without moving the wheels...i cleaned the carburetor AND the jet thoroughly,i took electrical tape and taped around where the intake tube and the carb meet to make sure it was sealed good, and then put the metal "ring" on, and the fuel line isnt clogged.... so whats happening is that when i give it gas it will start to stall out, but it runs on idle.... once i have this running good ill be good to go because its super clean!

sounds like what is going on with mine... the air filter isnt making enough vacuum at the air hole. Will it run without the airbox? If so cover the air hole when it is dying does it start to run ok again?

Also check the size of your main jet. Should be a 65 or 68. Remove it and look at the numbers, then post back.

okay, i think i found the problem. the spree would stall out when i give it gas right, so i "concluded" that it wasnt getting enough fuel. it would burn up what was in the bowl and then it would just stall out. The reason why it wasnt getting enough fuel is because the vacuum line i put on was too big so it would lose alot of vacuum. me and my teacher figured this out at the end of class today so im gonna give it a shot tomorrow... but it sounds like this was the problem.
