Looks like that thing was buried in some mud when you found it. Good thing it found its way into your hands. Looks good so far
What kind of front end is that off of?

is there a difference between the steel braided and reg. brake lines?

yeah the steel line doesn't flex as much so the brake feel is much more firm when you squeeze the lever.

Hey guys!!! I also own an 87 SE50. What is the under cowl body kit? I am interested in what these look like. I am doing lots and lots of custom body work on this bike as well as LED lighting as tail light and F/R blinkers. I have had the bike on hold but am now getting back into the swing of getting it done. Here is the link of the first part of the strip down and custom work started on my bike:

I have another motor on the work bench being stripped down, cleaned, and I will start porting on that soon. NEW crank and bearings! Heavily ported and shaved stock cylinder and head, modified stock piston, custom intake tract, bigger reed cage and manifold, 17.5mm delorto carb, and hopefully a new pipe. The old one does pretty good right now but I want way more rpm so I need a pipe with much larger header and mid pipe.
Let me know if you have any questions as you get into the motor!!! I love this bike! I could have sold this and gotten a newer elite with so much more power potential but this is way more fun!
Pics of those under cowls if possible guys...

Hehe, I really don't think Baka has many questions when it comes to these motors

Especially when they come out and a Dio goes in it's place.
Best undercowl pics would probably be here:

Here is a little update on my bike for next season. custom made rear shock to my specs. 265mm length and spring and internals set to my weight and bike weight. this is a 3 way ajustable shock. spring preload, rebound and compression adjustments.

The whole suspension setup is going on my backup bike. sorry. I'm going to have 2 bikes this year to race with. 1 with a 72cc setup and the other with a 85cc watercooled or small stroker 107cc setup.

fuel catch can. its required to race at any track so you dont leak premix on the track. its a intake boost bottle. on the bottom is the original threaded hole that I use as a drain plug and I drilled 3 holes for the hoses.
