idle issues

hey everyone, just a quick question. im working on a spree 86 special edition. i rebuilt the carb and is CLEAN. it starts right up but idles high....then drops down to normal then will stall out. i unplucged the electric choke and still does the same thing? any input? thanks.

Greetings:
I recommend you bench test the bystarter. If it does the same thing plugged or unplugged, evidently it's not doiing anything. It should. If it's warm where you live, the engine won't run well on continuous enrichment, might even stall if the plug starts to foul. Also Rule 1: Install a new spark plug before anything else.

It sound like the bystarter is "shuting off" too early.

Does the same when the bystarter is unplugged so it can't be that.

Hmmm.....maybe clogged tank screen?.....Maybe a bystarter just not working. Thats my guess.

ive tried just about everything i can think of. i will post a video tomorrow and let u all c what this thing is doing. now im leaning twards electrical somewhere??

Check the o-ring on the carb, as well as on the phenolic intake manifold spacer....also, the intake manifold gaskets.....you "may" be leaking air somewhere....how does it run once it's "warmed up"?
