I fired up my moped went about .5 miles to get some gas. I filled her up and headed back home with no problems. I then left using the starter to turn the moped on and left. I headed about a mile down the road and everything just stopped working. The engine shut off, the starter wouldnt work, the turn signals wont come on, nothing works at all. Once home I checked the battery and it was still at 12V. The fuse was also good. I tried the starter and signals again and nothing. I took the keys out and put them back in this time the starter worked for about 3 seconds then stopped working. I should also mention the oil light comes on when I try and kick start it (I run premix and didnt know how to disable it) but sadly regardless of how much i kick it never starts whereas before it would always start on the first kick.

so basically it wont start at all and none of the electrical components work. I have no clue what the problem would be so any help would be appreciated.

think i would look into the ignition switch, by your description of removing the key and the replaceing and worked for a few then thats where i would start.

Try turning the key to ON real slow, with the blinker on, and see if developed a dead spot.

Start with a test light or multimeter. Does the brake light come on?

No lights anywhere. No brake lights, literally nothing works.

So you need to get to the ignition switch and test it.

I tried jiggling the key, slowing turn it on, turning it real hard nothing seemed to matter. any more ideas?

Bear was referring to using the manual, found in the Tech man section of the forums, and using a multimeter to check the switch.
