Here is my 01 elite when I bought it about 2 months ago for $425 and a 300 mile road trip half of it with this in the back seat on my 97 honda civic which was interesting but not that bad.

It was stock and the exhaust, nose plastic and tail light were cracked. I got a smoked red jdm tail light from daywot one problem solved. Then I ordered a V8 pipe, variator, 9.8 gears, new belt and 2 k grab springs. This improved the topspeed to 42-45mph which was fun for a little while. I logged on and looked at wheelmans post for his 78cc bbk in great shape for half what a new one costs. I got that and installed it with a loaner 24mm carb from tjamz and a new set of 8.4 gears from limp. I also installed new tires 3x10 sl26 in the front and a 90/90 sl26 in the rear. It will now do 50+mph easy and still takes off faster then most cars do from the light. I will update with current pictures tomorrow in the day light.

Hahaha! Dude, you talking about "a road trip with a scooter in the back of your Civic" is a topic I can directly relate to!

-In 2003, I took a trip to Virginia Beach from here in Lexington, KY (which took me 23 hours, drove down and straight back all in one go) to pick up a 2002 Honda Metropolitan I won on Ebay for $300. About an hour after I won the auction, I decided to drive downt pick it up. I thought tha it would be no problem at all to fit the Metropolitan in my Civic, because I took out my passenger seat. My Civic is a Coupe, and even with the passenger seat out, I had to "hold" the scooter the whole trip back home. Not fun at all. I was so sleep deprived when I got home, i fell asleep in the kitchen waiting for my food in the microwave. -A Honda in the back seat of a Honda is definitely possible. :2thumbs:
I ended up selling the Metropolitan for $1100 when I fixed it. The previous owner had tried to hook up a set of fog lights to it and burned out / shorted out the ECM. I found a ECM on a forum for $100, bought it and it was running again!

Your build looks GREAT so far, dude! And you have already made it fast! Great find for $425!

later, jon :coolcruise:

Lucky for me my civic is a 4 door. I took a cordless impact and a 10mm and removed the rear wheel and tail light it fit in the back seat with just the lower part of the seat removed. Thanks for the kind words. T jamz is a big help... It was very stormy here today so I slacked on update pictures maybe tomorrow if i get a minute.

Yeah dude, it was a terribly stormy day here in KY, too... it has been raining here all day. I think everyone in the east coast has been drenched today.

I remember Tjamz coming to get a 97 from me with someone in a honda civic, i cant remember if it was two or four door tho. Wasn't you was it? He took the whole thing apart @ my house and put it in the back seat, nonetheless. The car was tricked up pretty good, nice rims, aftermarket lights, lots of carbon fiber and I remember it specifically being stick shift.

So I've seen a 97 elite go into a Civic before. LOL :bowrofl:
