There is no way to know easily. Optimum air to fuel ratio for performance is 14 to 1 but economy is about 18 to 1. But without expensive equipment there is no way to tell what an individual engines fuel to air ratio is.

:bowrofl:
I suspect Bear knew that this question was NOT about AIR to fuel ratio.

:surprise: That seems dangerous to me. :nervous:

What carb size and jetting are you using?

24oko 48-122 now. Did not have the time to check for the jetting yet.
I think 32:1 is too much. Way too much smoke . Should be good for a racing setup but i am using the scooter for street riding.
Plus 50:1 is what the guys at VT recommended... Remember that Castor oil is very high performance. I would go 32:1 only if i am using some cheap stuff..

Are you still running the oil pump?

castor 927, recommed 25:1 to 32:1 .

50:1 to 32:1 need to retune jets on pilot and main.

You may not be aware of oil brands are not same premix ratio as 32:1

Some oils or are thick or thin.

I don't get it. Why are you using premix if your Elite has an oil pump? It's not a chainsaw.

all my bikes have oil pumps removed and i run premix, bear disagrees with this but o well lol... and some ppl add extra oil to tank and run oil pump for big bores......

I disagree with removing the perfectly good and functioning oil pump just because you want to run extra oil. Just add a smidgen of oil to the gas to bolster the oil/fuel ratio rather than have to carry a lot of extra oil to run without a pump. I do agree with "add extra oil to tank and run oil pump for big bores......".

The factory spree pump supplies somewhere in the 70:1 range :surprise: I like my 32:1 smoker, but there will never be agreement on anything to do with lubrication. Between 30:1 and 50:1 seems to be the usual range, although there are alot of variables in play.
