Hi i was wondering how to fix my frozen turn signal switch. I also noticed that my rear running light works intermittently. I played with the wire and found that in certain positions it stays on. What type and gauge wire can I use to rewire? Thanks

BTW I have an 86 Aero

You can start by releasing the tabs holding the switch actuating knob from the switch and inspecting and cleaning from the top (3rd, 4th photos)

If needed, you can disassemble the whole switch and clean it.

The ball bearing in the switch was really dirty. I cleaned everything up, still some hesitation in the switch. Blinker light turns on but doesn't blink. Is this because I removed the front blinkers?

Yes, you need both front and rear light bulbs in place and working, to make the mechanical flasher work. You can replace the flasher with an electronic one and make the system work without all the lights.
