Spree Tires Help

Post by gulfstorm »

Hi All,

I have been looking on the forum to get some info on the tire brand, sizes etc for my 85-86 sprees. I just wanted some suggestion as to what you chose for your tire and where you got it from. I am looking to buy online. I need a tire that fits without mods but would like to have some increase in top end speed but most importantly grip. Any suggestions are welcome! So far I am looking at 2.75 as I understand 3.0 would not fit.

Thanks!

Gulfstorm.

Have found best grip available in 10-inch tires to be the Dunlop TT-92. Expensive by comparison and probably intended more for the track. ANY new tire you put on, Kenda, Cheng Shin, Shinko, etc.(sportbike type tread pattern) will give better grip than any OEM style replacement..... :imo: ......don't expect to see any change in top end

On my stock '85 Spree, going to the 2.75X10 tire netted me a whole 1/2 mph on the GPS whereas the speedometer showed not enough change to see. 27.9 mph to 28.4 mph on the GPS and that is what the 4 runs, 2 each way produced.

Would most 2.75 size tires then fit? I heard there could be some interference with framework. Thx

My 2.75X10 tires were a bolt on, with no interference with any part of the scooter.
