Prj Tempest, Drag Spree - Revival?

Hey folks, remember my crazy custom spree build?

If you don't or just want to check it out, all info can be found here:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17404

It seems that even at what seems like a crazy low price to me, there hasn't been much interest in buying her motorless, SO.. It's got me thinking. I have 2 other current projects, a GY6 and Jog styles, and thinking about finishing the Tempest build in between.

She would receive my spare Dio AF18 120cc motor, and will almost certainly need a wheelie bar, then off to the track to run down some actual 1/4mi times, 1/8ths for suckas :P

Who would like to see this done? Plz vote in the poll. If there is enough interest, I will start doing some re-engineering :urban:

My thoughts:

This bike had the highest value to you, I think. I think you should complete it and race it. Post back with your slips.

I think you should investigate the handling a bit at higher speeds. I can't recall if you increased trail / rake on this bike, but it should be more "chopper" than "Spree" in terms of setup. Stiffer custom springs and perhaps a steering damper would be good additions too, in addition to a wheelie bar.

Check out Sonic Springs; should run about $80/set, and they should be able to tell you the right rate for your bike based on weight distribution (I think they'll find the application novel and help you with this.)

Same goes for rear spring, but I think you can find something off the shelf if what's on there isn't right.

A steering damper can be picked up used on the Bay for little. Custom mounting would be the main work/cost here.

Check the speed ratings on those tires, as well.

In terms of selling it, you should sell it with a motor (maybe one in need of a refresh or that's not built up yet,) so that it's a complete bike, if you decide to go that way. Motorless chassis is always a harder sell.
