87 Elite 50p upgrade list request

Hi everyone! I recently came into possession of a red 87 Elite 50. I've actually wanted one SINCE 1987!
Anyhoo, I've been lurking here for a while and I've gotten some real good info so far, but I just have one sorta problem to get around.
See, I have the "P" model

, and I'd like to hop it up to the unrestricted specs. Now, I understand I will need the unrestricted plate thing, the unrestricted exhaust and some sort of "jet" thing, at least thats what I gather. Obviously, I'm no gear head, but my brother is and he can help me put anything together.
The big problem is this- I used the Search function a lot and whenever anyone referred to one of those parts they gave an Ebay link- a link that is long expired at this point. So I was wondering if I could just get a list of part #'s so I could search sites/local shops and just ask for these things. Also an estimated cost per item would be awesome, but not necessary.
Like I said, I've been hanging out here for a bit, and this seems like a real nice community, and can't wait to have my own stories to share with you folks some day!

Greetings:
And Welcome!
Most Dealers with a Website have a way to look up any model and year. Like
THIS
The "Jet" is a quarter-inch-long threaded cylinder of brass that unscrews from your carb. The hole in the center of the little cylinder comes in different sizes. The "P" restricted model doesn't rev very high so it draws less air than the unrestricted SE50. Consequently the "P" jet is smaller - perhaps a 68 but you can see for yourself by comparing models using the link. You will want a number 82, 85 and 88 to be able to tune to different stock-ish mods. Click on the "carburetor" link in the model you select and find the part number that should start with 99101-187-0**0. The stars denote the jet size.
You got the rest of that stuff exactly right. Pipe and ramp plate will bring engine specs up to the unrestricted '87 SE50 Elite S specifications. One more thing: Honda's oil pumps do vary. If the '87 "P" model doesn't have a throttle cable control, consider getting the unrestricted model's oil pump. If you decide not to, you can Zip-Tie your current pump wide open. However, if the P pump delivers less oil than the S model's pump - and I'm not sure but there's a good chance it does - then your engine may lack oil for prolonged WOT operation.
Good luck!

Hey thanks! That link you gave me actually has the mufflers for sale (most everywhere else I looked said they were no longer available). Are they seriously $120 for stock mufflers? That seems a bit steep, since I've seen you guys talk of real nice aftermarket upgrades costing $150, but whatever- I'm new.
Also- so these "jet" things are just tubes? I assumed they were some sort of active mechanism or something, since the term "jet" sounds like something with moving parts that forces things around at high velocity or something. LOL
Oh and one more thing before I go- since this is a two stroke engine, I know it needs an oil/gas mix, but do I need to pre-mix since it has a separate oil and gas tank? I had an old Yamaha 75 mini dirt bike a long time ago, and we had to pre-mix for that, but it also didn't have an oil tank as far as I can remember.
Oh, and PS- sorry about the avatar- it was late when I uploaded it and I guess I clicked on the wrong file. Oops!

Thanks for changing that Avatar
You can save a considerable amout of money by buying a used muffler. Check the F/S section of this forum. Alot of aftermarket mufflers are no longer made for your engine. The last I've seen available are the LeoVince SP3.
Also if you want a Ramp plate that's unrestricted, post it in the FS section as WTB: Unrestricted Ramp Plate for SE/05 engine. If you cant find one, Malossi and Keli make specific ones for your engine. Also most(not all) Variators for the Dio engine will work for you
The main jets are small screw in parts for the carb. They moniter the amount of fuel that is being used between 3/4 and full throttle. These little carbs have fixed pilots, so no adjustment there, only from the air fuel screw.
These 2-strokes are oil injected, meaning you do not need to premix as long as your oil pump is working correctly. Make sure you use 2-stroke oil specifically for oil injection, preferably Honda GN2.

Greetings:
What Cubic Bradley said...
Let me just add that the de-restricted engine may require a bit more oil than the "restricted" oil pump can supply. Zip-tie it open, or add a throttle-controlled pump like the SE50, or plug the pump socket altogether and run premix like your MX bike.
If you don't want to do any of that, consider adding 1oz of GN-2 per gallon (124:1) of fuel - that little bit if "insurance" - and run the 85 main jet.

Wheelman, i'm pretty sure the se50P pump is throttle controlled, from what i remember. Just not sure if it pumps less oil?

Correct, the se50 and the se50p use the same split throttle cable and oil pump, no mods required. There are several other parts that are different but swap the jet, pipe, variator ramp plate and you wont need to worry about those. Used non-restricted pipes usually sell for about half the cost of new.

Wow! Thank you guys SOOO MUCH for the kind help!

You are truly making this a great experience for me. I'm just so used to being on forums where every other question is answered with USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION, NEWB! I think this is going to work out really good. My brother and I got it up and running the other day, but we had to stuff a rag down the air intake pipe since the stock filter had a hole worn in it. Without the rag it wouldn't idle. I know, I know- I ordered a new air filter cause I'm sure having an old shop rag shoved down some part of the engine isn't the ideal situation. Plus you can tell when you get to top speed that it wants to run "better". So once that comes in and we get it in tip top shape, I'll begin the de-restricting process (deneutering?).
I can't wait! I've literally wanted on of these since I was like 10 years old, and now at 34 I finally have one!

keep in mind that not all the se50p's had restrictions on them. the very early ones had the unrestricted exhaust,10to1 gears and unrestricted ramp plate. a few guys on here had se50p bikes with 10to1 gears in them. take the ramp plate out and look to see if its the curved 6 finger plate. if its flate and straight. you got the restricted one. to know what gears you have. take the trans cover off and turn the clutch bell and count how many time it rotates to 1 tire rotation. that will give you your gear ratio. those motors either came with 11t01 or 10to1 gears.as for the carb jet, they came either with a 82 or 85 main jet. the 88 or 90 jet works best. if your going to use the stock oil injector, tie it open with a zip tie or steel wire. the oil pump for both the se50 and se50p is the same pump.the se50p alot of them came with the small exhaust j pipe.check your vin number. there were 2 se50p models, one with a af121 in the vin and the other is af122. one is the iowa model and the other is just the restriced model.the iowa came with a different carb which uses a different slide and needle. the airbox is also smaller.
