Greetings:
That Variated AF05E engine casting was introduced in its long-run form to this country in the 1986 AERO. The '85 was similar but featured a 2-bolt intake port. The 05 continued mostly unchanged until 1993. What BC is saying is that ehe SE50 Elite model bowed in 1987, sold alongside the more Classic-styled Aero. The two shared the variated AF05E engine block. Different intake manifolds and even a split belt-cover on some Japanese and Euro models appeared over the years, but basically all parts interchange from 86-93.
Read What Engine Code... in Advanced Technical Docs for the whole sordid tale.

Parts interchange but there are some differences, like porting, variators, electrical plugs, intake manifold, carb, oil pump...

ok, I will read that to get a better idea. I messaged the seller of this and he said it wont fit an aero. But it seems from what I am reading that it should fit. http://r.ebay.com/AId9AO

That seller is also a member of this board, Tazland001. If he says it will not fit, my guess is that the porting is different. I have no first hand experience with that kit though so I can't say for sure. The stroke is the same but the crank and case part numbers are different. I remember the case having minor differences but can't think of an example right now.scottorious wrote:ok, I will read that to get a better idea.
