I work at Home Depot and am thinking about buying one tomorrow! I have a bunch of 18v cordless ones but dont think they would work, so pneumatic power? this should do the trick?

Greetings:

I had a front axle nut kick my * once too. Dremeled off with cutting wheel in 2 sections and still had to chip it with a cold chisel. Japanese rust is made of stronger stuff. :)

I use an air impact whenever i have a stubborn rear wheel nut. It seems the impact action is sometimes needed since the wheel held by the brakes can "flex". I've never used an electric impact so i can't compare it to an air impact.

I wouldn't even try with a cordless(i have the 1/4 " shank ones that have been known to shear off)...I will will buy a air impact tomorrow and if that doesn't go its dremel time.

Don't dremel that nut, KJ!! (please). -that would hurt your poor scooter! Possibly even make it cry!

It's a definite you need an impact gun, but you also may need a little heat from a propane / mapp gas torch. Torches are cheap!

Heat it up a bit, then use the impact. If that gives u no love, use a chisel and a hammer to "peck" that nut off. All it needs is to break free with a chisel, then impact it off. Have u tried a breaker bar yet?

PM me your phone number; we can chat about your setup.

Just had this problem 2 days ago, I ran a 3' pry bar through the wheel, under the motor, put box end wrench on the nut, put leg over the bar to hold wheel, and beat the#@!$%^$@!# out of it....broke it right loose! :2thumbs:

I have a 14v snap on cordless impact. It spins that nut right off :thumbwink:
