bad float?

when i turn my carb upside down the float is not level with the side of the carb(I read in another post that is was suppost to be close to being level) so that would make a lot more gas going through the carb than there should be, right? I think my float has too much movement and I can't seem to get it so it barely moves, so could something be bent or worn out? If so aren't floats(without the screw, pin, and needle) under a buck to buy? Just wondering since it doesn't seem to be running correctly this year.

Put the float in a dish of gasoline. If it floats, and doesn't fill with gas overnight, then it's OK.

I am sure the float is in fine condition, as of doing its job but I am not sure if it sits in the carb right. I'll post pics later.(if they turned out good anyway)

i've never had a problem with plastic floats - brass ones, maybe.
but if you shake your float and there's no fuel in it - your probably good.
its the float pin you have to look at - maybe pin isn't the word - the float needle maybe - the rubber tipped thing that lets the fuel in -
well that has a little spring tip on the non rubber side. - it should move up and down freely - well you should be able to push it in - and it will spring back.
if its not springing back - your float will have to rise higher to close the valve.
and if not that maybe the rubber on that little float valve is worn out.
and if thats the case buy a new one so it will seat properly.
thanks for listening.
stay safe

Well if I wasn't so lazy today I'd go out and tinker around with it. I cleaned the carb yesterday and now it's running really crappy and it doesn't sound right so I have no clue on what I did wrong. I'll get to it 2morrow and give the results.

So yesterday I re checked over the moped and found out I didn't tighten down the air box tube and got it to idle decently. I went out today and went for a ride to the store(about 10 min.) came out about 3 minutes later and had to kickstart it like 12 times, holding the throttle half way open and once it started open it up all the way and then keep twisting the throttle back and forth to keep it running. Then it would not idle with out giving it throttle. On my way home it was 3 mph faster. So believing the piston is dying(log story behind why I believe this) I put my finger over the spark plug hole, the air seemed to get past my finger but my finger didn't seem to pop off. So how much is a person's finger suppost to pop off when over the spark plug hole when cranked. Sooo....how much would a piston from honda cost? I'd buy one of the internet but we don't like to buy stuff off the internet. I know it is going to be expensive(I'm broke but I'm just wondering).

I'm trying to get ahold of a guy who is selling his moped. I think it is a Wahoo. Not sure on anything about it though. I heard he wants $900 which seems like alot(just my thoughts). I asked my dad about Murray's Auto, and he never heard of them so where is this place located?
