ok so im on my way to work this morning when after going over a speed hump i lose power/speed went from 25 mph to 10-15 said o well and continued on for a block or two shut it off ,restart and than ran better. now could it be the 27 year old rubber band being too hard/dry i removed cover and cluch bell looks llike it got hot.has some bluing on it.belt is glossy kinda hard.went to auto zone got temp belt put it on and pow 22-24 mph flat ground spreedo.is this ok performance?and it seems to vibrate more at top speed is it the auto belt perhaps?and finally can a faulty bystarter lean out an engine and kill it? this 84 spree is my way around so its gotta run any and all advice/help would be awesome!!!
thanks
scott

What belt did you get?

With the Spree you start out in High gear, hence the clutch gets hot.

No, the bystarter can only enrichen the mixture as long as it is installed. If removed it can cause a lean condition.

:coolcruise: ok so upon further inspection while waiting for my belt to come in i notice a large chunk of motherloving carbon restricting the exaust tip, pull it out with my trusty needle nose torque back all that was untourqed and fire it up...........whammo 22-25 up hill 30-32 on flat 35-38 downhill and thats with a cruddy auto belt cant wait for the honda part to come in! does anybody have a picture of a known glass filled muffler for an 84 spree? if so please post it here i have an odd feeling mine is and before i set it a blaze i wanna be shure its not.
thanks
