1985 Honda Spree.
Picked it up for $200.
It's getting new tires and tubes, battery, and a carb clean. Hope to have it on the road by Monday.

Unless it has been running recently, I would drain the fuel tank and fill with fresh gas.

TheBear! Thanks for all the useful posts you put up around here. I'm sure I'll be using them for reference if I run into a problem.
Yeah, going to do the same with the oil. Not sure what kind is in there. For all I know, the guy read "oil" on the cap and poured in some 10w-30. I use to restore old Honda CB's, but this will be my first scooter to tinker with.
Here's the last CB we did. It was '76 with 8k miles on it. I don't think the scooter will polish out this well.

btw, is your name a reference to one of the greatest rifle cartridges ever built or something else entirely?

I had a CB750-4, the last year of the SOHC. Can't remember what year it was but I also had a CB175, CB305 and a CB350 over the years. The 750 almost killed me during an encounter with a deer in June of 1994. For rehab, I repaired it and sold it so that all I had was my pit bike, a 1985 Spree, which I still have.

Glad you're still around. I mashed a Ninja 250 into a guardrail years back. Wrecking on two wheels sucks, no matter what you're riding.

Very much so, my favorite cartridge. I use these to shoot my handloads with 405 grain cast lead bullets with.
Marlin 1895, Thompson Contender Super 14 and a Ruger #1
H&R Buffalo Classic Model 1871
An H&R replica Model 1873
A real "Trapdoor" Model 1873
Here are the two Trapdoors with their bayonets attached with frogs on (a real one on the original and a replica on the H&R

Wow, you don't see those Springfields down here very often, looks like it's in fine shape too! I like that H&R 1871, never seen that model....but if I had to pick one, I've always been fond of the Marlin 1895 Guide Gun. Hard to beat them for the price.
Nice collection.

My Trapdoor is in excellent condition and I'm glad I made the trade of the century for it. It had a piece of broken shell casing stuck in the chamber and you could not load the gun. The guy had no clue of how to fix it and traded it o me for a Makarov pistol. It took me 10 minutes to remove the piece of brass (I was very careful not to gouge the chamber walls). The rifle shoots fine now.
I have shot a number of Guide Guns, with and without ports and prefer my 22" barreled 1895SS made in 1983 long before the Guide Gun was thought of.

What's the story on the Cyclone?

I haven't had a dog in decades, mainly because I wasn't at home enough. Now that I'm retired I get all the dog I can handle with the daughter's two Australian Shepherds.
I bought the Cyclone while still on active duty after Vietnam. It was one of the rare ones, 427 single 4 barrel. Sorry I ever sold it but the guy offered me 5 times what I paid for it. It was fast, but could get squirrelly if you weren't careful. The 428CJ was much better handling.
