Bogging down

Finally got my spree to turn over, now it bogs down, and will not even idle. I need a diagram or something to tell me where the idle screw is and where it needs to be. Same with the other adjustment screw. Also, as soon as it turns over, it runs wide open without me touching the throttle... Any suggestions?

Here's a link to the Spree carb settings, and airscrew identification Spree Air/Fuel setting and screw identification

For the running wide open after starting - check that the throttle slide's slot faces 180 degrees to the idle screw. It sounds like your carb slide is stuck on the pin which the throttle slide is normally aligned to.

Why do you NOT have the Service manual downloaded BEFORE you try working on this thing? :jack:

There is a collar type thing on the main needle jet, which was missing when I rebuilt the carb... Any chance that is why it won't run right?

Greetings:

Yes, one of the needle's jobs is to shut down the main jet when throttle is closed. The Main is probably spewing way too much fuel if the needle is missing, so the mixture won't support combustion.
