On a sort of related note, how far is the bystarter supposed to push the pin out? Mine is like 3/4" out when cold and about 7/8 when powered up for a minute. I tested it on my meter and it reads 140 ohms when cold. Do I need a new one?
So I think my bystarter is always extended out. I would assume that it is always keeping the enrichment circuit closed, correct? Is there a way to rig it up to work without the bystarter? Temporary fix?
yes there is. my autobystarter hasent wortked for like a month. what ya got to do is ya got to find somthing to use as an air cleaner that is going to chock the moter enuph to run. what i did was i left my bystarter in to keep the hole in the carb closed up and i took one of thos paiters face masks and used it as a air cleaner. chockes it just enuph. then ya got to tune the idle mix screw and the jet screw. there gonna have to be tuned way off from where there sposed to be. u wont have as much power or speed bbut if ya get it in a good spot u should get 30 35 out of it
or ya can manualy choke it with your hand wile riding ya het much quicker throtal responce that was but dangerous seeing as u can never get both hands on the wheal without stalling
yea. i used a right hand control fron a honda express, the only down side is when its on u cant use electric start unless u make a separate swich, well the autocoke from that i used the cable, then took the needlle out of the bystarter and soldered it to the cable end, then i drilled and taped a hole in the topp of the mystarter so i could still use the brass drum, then i screwed it in, it leaks realy bad and does not work good at all... but im working on it. im gonna have my dad make me a pice of steel shaped as the part that goes into the auto bystarter, then solder the drum onto there and put some o rins in. adn maby if needed jb weld or silicone...
