Will it start?

86 spree no kickstart

Ok, I got a battery and filled it with electrolytes.
The ignition is gone, so I spliced the red and black wire.
When I try to honk the horn or turn on lights nothing happens, but when I first connected the battery the horn did honk faintly and a brake light came on, but never did any of that again.

-Fuse is good
-I have a spark, but I'm not sure how good the spark is supposed to look.
(I turned off the lights and pressed the plug against the cylinder head and turned the drive gear)
-Starter motor won't turn cause obviously it isn't getting power from the battery

If I hook up a 14 mm socket wrench to the drive gear and use it as a kickstart should the bike be able to start?

Thanks
Josh

I'm betting your fuse is corroded. The only thing that should come on is the brake light when you turn the bike "on." Not sure if the horn will work, the headlight definately doesn't.

You can try to start it with a drill, go CW.

got it running! had to start it with the drill though -- anyone know any cheap fixes for a kickstart? I have a kickstart ,but the drive gear isn't made for one and they are pretty expensive from honda . I searched ebay and didn't see it. There has to be a certain type of nut to make the kickstart work... How about a wing nut?

the moped runs kind of choppy and topped out at 25 because i don't have an air box/filter ... will a lawnmower oiled-foam air cleaner get my speed up?

The electric starter will probably be cheaper to fix. Contact Greg at uspmale@yahoo.com for parts.

Get a Honda air filter, they're $4 or so. No need to cobble.
