Changing oil seal?

Have an air leak behind my variator around my oil seal. Was wondering if the oil seal is the likely problem? If it is, do you simply pull the old one off and slip a new one?
If it's more likely a problem with the crankcase that would involve splitting the case I would just order all new bearings instead of just an oil seal

Greetings:
Destructive removal of the old seal can be done. Inserting new one is pretty easy with Gorilla thumbs. The issue is WHY the seal is failing? Sometimes it's old rubber and Bad Luck. Often the seal fails because the crank is wobbling or the bearings are going bad. Check the runout or have someone with Precision Measuring tools - a Dial Indicator - do it.

Can you check the runout without splitting the case?

Bump! Is there a good source for a new crankshaft if my runout is no good

You can check it in the crankcase or out, but if it checks good removing the crank was a waste of time.

That's why I asked. I debating just changing all the bearings anyways. Replacing everything else might as well
