new break in way?

i am rebuilding my top end from an old engine, and i need to know, how should i break it in? should it be easy or hard? normal? check this article out:

also, every time i open up a busted engine, one of the circlips has came lose and 'scored the *' out of everything. has this happened to you before? please help

lol yes it has i didnt have one of my clips in all the way i did a half * job on it thats y..

should the clip be covering up both of the holes on the side of the piston? -- the access holes to get the clip out

The article is biased to 4 stroke water cooled bikes, not sure it's applicable.
Personally, I'd take a couple of hours and run the thing around at about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle for about 30-50 miles or so, varying the speed. Note that this would take planning with a Spree, since at 25 MPH or so it will take you 2 solid hours of riding to do this.

vt told me to run half throttle for one tank of gas.. i couldnt wait i got it running and i had to give it full but not for long..

cir-clips should be installed with opening at 12:00.
You may loose them in the cylinder if not installed correctly.
