99 Elite Stalled

Picked up a 99 Elite this weekend. Has a 70cc big bore on it. Ran phenomenally, no issues whatsoever. It's a practically new setup, maybe 60-70 miles on it so far. Started it up this morning, took off and at 15mph it completely shut off and wouldn't start back up. Just stalled right there when I was giving it gas. Sounded like it wasn't warmed up/ready to go and then it just stalled. I didn't have time to mess with it and walked it home, got in my car and drove to work. Any idea on the problems? I've barely had a chance to use it but the last four days it's ran nothing but amazingly.

EDIT: Went home after 2 hours from it stalling, tried starting it again, no-go. Both kickstart and electric aren't getting it to turn over.

Starter just continually tries to start the engine but it never starts. Kickstart does the same, it sounds like its a normal kickstart motion without the engine starting afterward.

I'll have to check when I get home to determine if there's a spark. I have no way to check compression. I've got a very limited set of tools now that I've moved from a house back into an apartment.

check to make sure plug wire didn't pop off.

I would start at spark. If there is spark. Make sure u got gas and gas flow. I had a gas gage that never moved more then 1/4 . Then I would check the carb might be plugged up.

A little update:

Tried starting it that night after I got back home, wouldn't start.

Had to work the next two days and the weather was bad so I didn't take a look at the Elite.

Went to Autozone, got the compression checker. Came back, tried starting it on a whim, and it fired right up. Let it run for about 10 minutes, took it out and it's been completely fine ever since. Not a clue what caused any of this really.
