a couple questions on big bore kit (Spree)

Post by B-Nasty »

OK, I received my 44mm big bore kit for my 86 spree. I cant tell a difference in the two rings, does it matter which ring goes on top/bottom or are they the same?

It states in the instructions, "if you add another gasket you will not need to machine the head"
It came with 2 paper gaskets (1 for the jug to case and another for head to jug) there is also an aluminum gasket for the head to jug. Will these 3 give me enough clearance between the head and piston so I dont have to machine the head? Of the paper and alum gasket that goes between the jug and head, which goes on top?

thanks!

yes it matters which ring goes on top, the top ring is a tiny bit skinnier than bottom one, the bottom ring will not fit in the top . generally there will be a small T on the left ring gap denoting the top of the ring on both. if you install them upside down they may ruin your cylinder and break.

Because a 44 BBK is not worthy anymore of a build thread, post *. Especially without a gear change and an intake kit.

pretty much...once I make my build thread you will see why the 44 bbk is insignificant. I plan to make some headway on it tonight so maybe I will have some pics up tom or the next day
