I was wondering if anyone knows if a #78 main jet would fit in my sb50p moped. Does anyone know if it would?

Well, if it is the right main jet. You can get all kinds of main jets, but only one type will fit in your carb.

Fit means nothing, fit is a physical thing, like will the jet screw into the carb. Will it give you the right fuel and air mixture, don't know, but unless you removed the other restrictions from the engine the aftermarket airfilter will not do much if anything. The unrestricted version of your scooter uses a 88 main jet.

You really have no clue what you are doing do you? You are going for the bling, right?

Actually, i'm not going for just the bling. I'm trying to do what's best for my scooter. i already have an unrestricted muffler on my moped by the way. and i just want a new air filter for better performance. so all i need to know is...will a 78 or 88 main jet do anything good to my moped?

Then leave it stock or better yet, just derestrict it. What you are doing is asking for trouble with no performance increase.

Listen closely. Changing just the carb will probably hurt performance. You first have to make the make the engine into a SB50, the unrestricted version of your motor. Which means an exhaust change and
then the carb rejet to the SB50 main jet. Without the exhaust change you are wasting your and everyone else's time. Do a search for SB50 derestrict. A better question is why is this info NOT in Wikispreedia?

i understand what you're trying to say about the whole "fitting" thing. would i hafta get a whole new carb for the #88 main jet?

There is no point in giving you answers because you already made up your mind and you do NOT want to be confused with the facts.

well i found out that the unrestricted version of my moped only has a #68 jet too. so, i'll just stick with the 68.
